About the Role
As Xata's very first GTM Engineer, you're not just joining the team — you're helping shape it! You'll own the systems and processes that drive growth and revenue, from initial prospecting to customer renewal. You will develop expertise in modern sales technology, leverage AI, and create automated data pipelines to optimize performance. You will leverage AI to design scalable GTM systems, building and maintain automated workflows to optimise performance.
Think of yourself as a blend of strategist, tech enthusiast, and process hacker — automating, optimising, and scaling our go to market motion.
What you’ll be doing

Design and Maintain Tech Stack: Set up and optimize a high-performing GTM tech stack (using tools like Clay, Apollo, warm-up tools, etc.) to streamline prospecting efforts and enable scalable growth.

Automate Workflows: Identify repetitive, manual tasks and create automation solutions to boost the efficiency and speed of outbound efforts.

Define and Refine ICPs: Analyse data from products, customers, and the market to develop precise Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and effective segmentation strategies.

Optimise Outreach Strategies: Develop and test multi-step outreach sequences, constantly adjusting to improve open rates, reply rates, and conversion rates.

Leverage Data for Insights: Track, analyse, and report on performance metrics to make data-driven adjustments to campaigns, workflows, and messaging.

Collaborate Across Teams: Report directly to the CEO and work closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Traits

Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using Clay
- Enthusiastic about leveraging AI to drive results.
- Motivated by performance-based compensation with significant upside potential.
- Ability to generate and execute new sales strategies at scale.
- Experience with sales automation tools like Apollo (Sequencing + Workflows), RB2B, etc.
- Background in sales or sales development is a plus, but not required.
- Openness to contractor, contract-to-hire, or full-time employment.
- Coding skills are a bonus but not necessary.
