Location: Remote from Europe or US east coast.

Salary: €100,000 - €120,000 plus stock options (it’s a range because we use a formula to determine exact pay based on location and level)

What we’re building at Xata:

We’re building a modern cloud database on top of Postgres. Our product vision:

  • A PostgreSQL database
    • Vertically integrated:
      • Search (like: Elasticsearch or Algolia)
    • File storage
    • AI: APIs that invoke an LLM that operates on your data, embeddings
    • A great UI to see and edit your data, share a view of a table with a colleague.
    • The best developer experience: with git workflows and preview ‘database branches’
    • Solve pain points like zero downtime migrations

    What you'll be doing:

    You will be joining our Frontend team, who are responsible for all TypeScript at Xata:

    Our tech stack:

    • React with Next.js
    • Chakra UI
    • Deployed to Vercel
    • pnpm, turbo, react-query, zod, prettier, eslint, github actions…

    Xata’s designers write React code and contribute PRs / directly to our feature branches. This allows us to focus on building functionality and code quality.

    We’re a small team, and you’ll work on features and bug fixes in any part of the product we’re responsible for. Examples of work our team has done:

    About you:

    We’re looking for engineers who can hit the ground running and are experienced in: 

    • TypeScript
    • React
    • Server side Node experience.
    • Experience using an SQL database (so you understand our product)
    • Bonus: experience with / interest in similar cloud databases

    • You'll have autonomy. If someone has an idea or wants to change something - they’ll put up a PR.
